On the six-day week only Sunday is a day off, so there are more working days: 299 a year. Yet the hours norm is the same as on the five-day week — 1972 hours.
The Government approves the calendar for the five-day week only. We derive the six-day week from the Labour Code rules listed below. The 2026 totals match the Kontur explanation; 2027 is our calculation with the same rules.

The Government publishes the calendar for the five-day week only, and the six-day calendar is derived from the Labour Code. There is one day off — Sunday; a holiday on Saturday moves nothing, and a holiday on Sunday gives Monday off. Decree transfers of Saturday days off do not apply to the six-day week. The hours norm is still calculated on the five-day schedule, as set by Order No. 588n.

Not allTransfers of Saturday days off do not apply; a transfer of a Sunday one does: 31 December 2027 is a day off on the six-day week too.
Shortened days
−1 hThe working day before a holiday is cut, Saturday included. In 2027 these are 22 February, 30 April, 8 May, 11 June and 3 November.
